Dean explored the Mississippi River from the source to the delta, primarily by water, to uncover the mysteries and illuminate the importance of this great and vital waterway.

Flowing 2,530 miles from Lake Itasca in northern Minnesota to the Mississippi River Delta at the Gulf of Mexico, the Mississippi River is the chief river of the largest drainage system in North America.
